Going Back on Your Word

Why?    I don't know why, but I feel like blogging some more this week even though I don't have a topic. When in doubt, I usually just talk about whats been going on lately and run with it. So... I'm gonna do that.     Right now my little sister is learning about the American Revolution, but it's pretty annoying listening to "Yankee Doodle" on repeat like she is. She does school in the dining room, so I'm lucky enough to be able to hear the radio. By the end of it, I should be able to recite it by heart.    With recent events... I went to the Renaissance Festival with my girlfriend, which was pretty fun. If you aren't sure what that is, you can find out here . Considering both of us like fantasy like Skyrim and others, it was cool to see people creating weapons and clothing in a period-accurate way.    This paragraph is being written a day after the previous ones. I'm exhausted, and I don't know why. I'm drinking coffee to

Cookie Clicker

Digital Drugs    This is probably the most repetitive and addicting game I have ever played. The name says it all. You click a cookie to gain cookies. Then you buy things with those cookies to make more cookies. I have pretty much "completed" this game once already. No joke.     There's not much to say, just that you should experience it yourself. You can find it by clicking  here.  At one point, you can just leave the game open to collect cookies without you even clicking. BE CAREFUL, IT IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. USE CAUTION. I'm playing it right now.     Update: Just one day later...

The Spider And The Fly

“W ill you  walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly,  'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy;   The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,    And I've a many curious things to show when you are there.” “Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain,  For who goes up your winding stair can never come down again. ” “I'm sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high;  Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the Spider to the Fly. “There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin,  And if you like to rest awhile, I'll snugly tuck you in!” “Oh no, no,” said the little Fly,  “for I've often heard it said,  They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed! ” Said the cunning Spider to the Fly,  “Dear friend what can I do,  To prove the warm affection I 've always felt for you?   I have within my pantry, good store of all that's nice;    I'm sure you'

The Most Words Said About Nothing

The Creation Museum

A New Perspective    Last week I went to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter in Virginia, both very interesting places. Each tackled issues between creation and man's idea of how things came to be. First, I'll start with the Ark.    First, the bow is in the left of the picture, even though it looks kind of weird for the front of a boat. Second, the inside of the actual scale Ark is full of exhibits about the truth of the flood and the methods that would have allowed such an amazing thing to happen. This includes methods for holding all kinds of animals, feeding and watering the animals, and methods for living.    It is possible dinosaurs would have been on the ark, but died due to natural selection. The flood would explain fossils and frozen fish found atop mountains. Also, Noah wouldn't need every animal. He would only need pairs of different types of animals, for example, he wouldn't need lions, tigers, leopards, and cheetahs. Only one type wo

Playing Hookie

I won't be in class this week. I'm going to Kentucky to see the Creation Museum, a Christian focused history museum. It sounds pretty interesting to me, I'll probably enjoy it. This means I won't be at Co-Op at all this Friday. You all will be dearly missed.

Eating Rock Candy in Blogging Class

Thanks to  Faith and the Journey  for the candy.

The Harlem Hellfighters

Becoming an Author    For my American literature class, I have to write a short-story. I've decided to write based on the Harlem Hellfighters. They were officially known as the 369th infantry in WWI. An entire infantry of African-Americans. Americans at the time showed hatred toward them, to the point of giving them to France because they refused to fight alongside blacks. In France, they were treated like any other regiment, also keeping their uniforms besides their new French helmets.    The Hellfighters were one of the most impressive people on the battlefield. Pvt. Needham Roberts heard a German patrol entering his designated area by cutting barbed wire. He accidentally loaded a French magazine into his American gun, jamming it. He then fought off the patrol using the rifle as a club and a bolo knife, killing at least four and wounding about 20 more. Roberts was the first American awarded the Croix de Guerre. He wasn't given the Medal of Honor until 2015, due to the

Getting an Early Start on Blogging Homework

Здравствуйте!    That's "Hello" in Russian. I'm currently trying to get a head start on my Blogging homework while waiting on my Russian teacher on Skype, Sergey, or Сергей, if you prefer. I'm sure the latter is less to your taste. He is a very smart man who lives in Belarus, working with my church as our translator. I'm also trying to think of comments for my fellow student's blogs. I'm not very good at commenting on other people's material. So I'm typing this while I think.     I say I am getting a "Head Start" but I'm sure I'll put this post off until later in the week, guaranteed. I don't have much else to say, really. Things are going as they normally do, I guess. I ate some Goldfish crackers a few minutes ago, if that counts for anything. Now I should probably go comment on some blogs.  до свидания. (Bye.)

Hey, We All Forget About Homework

So... I forgot about writing a blog post this week. In my defense, I've been pretty busy. Went to work twice this week, but yes I should have remembered it. (Also in my defense I was inducted into the National Honor Society.) Anyways, I'll try to avoid this inconvenience in the future. Sorry to my teacher and the two people from India who visit my blog.

Why I Like Fallout

My interest in Fallout began when my grandparents bought me a second-hand Xbox 360 for quite a cheap price. It came with a few games, but the two that caught my eye were Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas . I started with absolutely no idea what the games were about, but slowly I became more and more engrossed in the story and atmosphere. I mostly played New Vegas for the sole reason that it had a better tutorial. I eventually grew more and more accustomed to it.    The story behind Fallout can get long and complicated, so I'll only focus on what makes it great to me. The story starts with a second Cold War in 2077. The world looks much like the 50s, but with far more technological advancements. Robots, power armor, laser/plasma weapons, you name it. At the peak of this new Cold War, the world is ravaged by nuclear bombs, forcing those who are fortunate enough into Vaults. The Vaults were believed to help people, but they were more of social experiments. After a while, t
