No Longer a Freeloader

So, I got a job. I've been working a few days now and it's pretty good. I work at a skating rink called Skate Galaxy  behind the skate rental or I'm a skate guarding some days. My idea was that if I like going there, why not work there? It's an easy job and mostly enjoyable, especially while skate guarding. You practically get an hour-long break where you get to skate around and just make sure everyone is obeying the rules. The worst part of the job would be cleaning bathrooms, and that's it.    My schedule fluctuates, so there's no guarantee I'll be there if you ever decide to skate, but it would be cool to see people I know every once in a while. Ah, and with a job comes "being a light in the workplace." Funnily enough, the day Sweet Pea gave a devotion on this topic was the first day I started work. It's like there was some...reason for it... *wink*wink.*    Anyways, things are looking good I guess. I dunno. I usually try to include ...

Cool Math Games

Back when I was in the public school system in Alabama, I had a few classes involving computers. I actually was such a "teacher's pet" I could get away with emulating an Nintendo 64 on the computer and plugging in a controller I brought. I would bring four controllers and my friends and I would all play Mario Party. It was great. But, before I started that, there was a thing known as "Cool Math Games." It was way below our age range, but it was all our teacher would allow. Click in the link to go play some. Yes, I did purposefully make the link look the worst possible, thank you for noticing. COOL MATH GAMES YO

Why Do I Use Two Titles?

I Was Thinking About This Recently     Completely off topic, but growing up sucks. There's no easy way to put it. When you grow older, you can't get away with acting stupid all the time, which I would love to do. Saying nonesense words with my 3 yr old brother is fun. Laughing with him when anyone says the words "belly" or "chicken" is fun because he thinks it's funny. But my 8 yr old sister doesn't like it when I easily swing my brother around and she wants the same. I tell her she can't do everything he can because she's older and bigger and she hates it. I'm sure this is a topic my dad would tell me, "you won't understand until you're my age." But I am starting to feel it a little more.    I need to get a job soon. I've filled out around five or six applications, but they aren't working out it seems. That reminds me that I also need a car, since I just got my license, which reminds me that I need to th...

Some Stuff I Enjoy (Please Don't Go)

"These Are a Few of My Favorite Things"    I don't know why I like these particular things, but I do. Memes and other things on the internet are my bread and jam. You'll either love these things with me, or you'll leave this blog never to return. At least my little brother enjoys some of these. I'll start with the strangest. The video is from  Chris Kogos , and if you think Spongebob rots the brain, I turned out mostly okay.    Another thing I like is minesweeper. I could play it all day while listening to music. You can play it here if you'd like. If you don't know how to play, you start by clicking a square to clear it. I usually click until I find a nice opening, after that it's all a puzzle until you get caught in a Russian Roulette again. Some squares have numbers and that number represents the number of mines in the 8 blocks surrounding that square. Once you're sure you've found a mine, you right-click the square to pla...

Повторе́нье - мать уче́нья

Repetition is the Mother of Learning    I love the way that sounds. It's the Russian equivalent of our "Practice makes perfect," and perfectly describes learning any language. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. And even then, you barely know it. I was recently thinking about my future, which I'm sure all parents pressure their children to think about. I've considered a few careers, but I've narrowed it down to two. Being a chemist would be interesting and in high demand, especially where there are many chemical plants. I started to consider it after taking chemistry and finding it enjoyable, but I wouldn't say it's easy.   The second is becoming a linguist. It's more of a dream than anything I feel like I could actually reach. I love learning Russian. If you talk to me about Russian, I can go on for hours about it, believe me. We've looked at some options, such as colleges and military. College is an easier option, but it's expensive. If I we...

Possible Mission Trip?

Putting It to Good Use    My parents and I have been talking and we are trying to find a way for me to make a trip to Belarus in June. We aren't 100% on it happening, but it would be a great experience if it happened. I would be going to an English camp with people my age and "attempting" to talk to them. Another thing we are looking into is finding a way to get our friend Sergey from Belarus to here for a week or so. It would be pretty cool to have someone from another country stay at your house for that long, and to meet someone who you have only seen online. He also says he was the best player on his high school basketball team, so I'm sure he'd enjoy the basketball goal in our backyard.     Updates on my life would include my girlfriend breaking up with me, which really sucked. I'm only 17 though, and it being my first relationship I can't expect too much. Life goes on or whatever they say. I'm looking forward to co-op starting back, e...

Going Back on Your Word

Why?    I don't know why, but I feel like blogging some more this week even though I don't have a topic. When in doubt, I usually just talk about whats been going on lately and run with it. So... I'm gonna do that.     Right now my little sister is learning about the American Revolution, but it's pretty annoying listening to "Yankee Doodle" on repeat like she is. She does school in the dining room, so I'm lucky enough to be able to hear the radio. By the end of it, I should be able to recite it by heart.    With recent events... I went to the Renaissance Festival with my girlfriend, which was pretty fun. If you aren't sure what that is, you can find out here . Considering both of us like fantasy like Skyrim and others, it was cool to see people creating weapons and clothing in a period-accurate way.    This paragraph is being written a day after the previous ones. I'm exhausted, and I don't know why. I'm drinking coffee to ...

I Got a Pageview From Russia!

I Know This is Random, but It's Pretty Cool    I have no idea how they stumbled upon my blog, but they did, so that's cool. Just thought I would say something about it.    Спасибо за посещение моего блога!

Playing Hookie

I won't be in class this week. I'm going to Kentucky to see the Creation Museum, a Christian focused history museum. It sounds pretty interesting to me, I'll probably enjoy it. This means I won't be at Co-Op at all this Friday. You all will be dearly missed.

Eating Rock Candy in Blogging Class

Thanks to  Faith and the Journey  for the candy.

Getting an Early Start on Blogging Homework

Здравствуйте!    That's "Hello" in Russian. I'm currently trying to get a head start on my Blogging homework while waiting on my Russian teacher on Skype, Sergey, or Сергей, if you prefer. I'm sure the latter is less to your taste. He is a very smart man who lives in Belarus, working with my church as our translator. I'm also trying to think of comments for my fellow student's blogs. I'm not very good at commenting on other people's material. So I'm typing this while I think.     I say I am getting a "Head Start" but I'm sure I'll put this post off until later in the week, guaranteed. I don't have much else to say, really. Things are going as they normally do, I guess. I ate some Goldfish crackers a few minutes ago, if that counts for anything. Now I should probably go comment on some blogs.  до свидания. (Bye.)

Hey, We All Forget About Homework

So... I forgot about writing a blog post this week. In my defense, I've been pretty busy. Went to work twice this week, but yes I should have remembered it. (Also in my defense I was inducted into the National Honor Society.) Anyways, I'll try to avoid this inconvenience in the future. Sorry to my teacher and the two people from India who visit my blog.
