No Longer a Freeloader

So, I got a job. I've been working a few days now and it's pretty good. I work at a skating rink called Skate Galaxy  behind the skate rental or I'm a skate guarding some days. My idea was that if I like going there, why not work there? It's an easy job and mostly enjoyable, especially while skate guarding. You practically get an hour-long break where you get to skate around and just make sure everyone is obeying the rules. The worst part of the job would be cleaning bathrooms, and that's it.    My schedule fluctuates, so there's no guarantee I'll be there if you ever decide to skate, but it would be cool to see people I know every once in a while. Ah, and with a job comes "being a light in the workplace." Funnily enough, the day Sweet Pea gave a devotion on this topic was the first day I started work. It's like there was some...reason for it... *wink*wink.*    Anyways, things are looking good I guess. I dunno. I usually try to include ...

Cool Math Games

Back when I was in the public school system in Alabama, I had a few classes involving computers. I actually was such a "teacher's pet" I could get away with emulating an Nintendo 64 on the computer and plugging in a controller I brought. I would bring four controllers and my friends and I would all play Mario Party. It was great. But, before I started that, there was a thing known as "Cool Math Games." It was way below our age range, but it was all our teacher would allow. Click in the link to go play some. Yes, I did purposefully make the link look the worst possible, thank you for noticing. COOL MATH GAMES YO

Some Stuff I Enjoy (Please Don't Go)

"These Are a Few of My Favorite Things"    I don't know why I like these particular things, but I do. Memes and other things on the internet are my bread and jam. You'll either love these things with me, or you'll leave this blog never to return. At least my little brother enjoys some of these. I'll start with the strangest. The video is from  Chris Kogos , and if you think Spongebob rots the brain, I turned out mostly okay.    Another thing I like is minesweeper. I could play it all day while listening to music. You can play it here if you'd like. If you don't know how to play, you start by clicking a square to clear it. I usually click until I find a nice opening, after that it's all a puzzle until you get caught in a Russian Roulette again. Some squares have numbers and that number represents the number of mines in the 8 blocks surrounding that square. Once you're sure you've found a mine, you right-click the square to pla...

Cookie Clicker

Digital Drugs    This is probably the most repetitive and addicting game I have ever played. The name says it all. You click a cookie to gain cookies. Then you buy things with those cookies to make more cookies. I have pretty much "completed" this game once already. No joke.     There's not much to say, just that you should experience it yourself. You can find it by clicking  here.  At one point, you can just leave the game open to collect cookies without you even clicking. BE CAREFUL, IT IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE. USE CAUTION. I'm playing it right now.     Update: Just one day later...

The Most Words Said About Nothing

The Creation Museum

A New Perspective    Last week I went to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter in Virginia, both very interesting places. Each tackled issues between creation and man's idea of how things came to be. First, I'll start with the Ark.    First, the bow is in the left of the picture, even though it looks kind of weird for the front of a boat. Second, the inside of the actual scale Ark is full of exhibits about the truth of the flood and the methods that would have allowed such an amazing thing to happen. This includes methods for holding all kinds of animals, feeding and watering the animals, and methods for living.    It is possible dinosaurs would have been on the ark, but died due to natural selection. The flood would explain fossils and frozen fish found atop mountains. Also, Noah wouldn't need every animal. He would only need pairs of different types of animals, for example, he wouldn't need lions, tigers, leopards, and cheetahs...

The Harlem Hellfighters

Becoming an Author    For my American literature class, I have to write a short-story. I've decided to write based on the Harlem Hellfighters. They were officially known as the 369th infantry in WWI. An entire infantry of African-Americans. Americans at the time showed hatred toward them, to the point of giving them to France because they refused to fight alongside blacks. In France, they were treated like any other regiment, also keeping their uniforms besides their new French helmets.    The Hellfighters were one of the most impressive people on the battlefield. Pvt. Needham Roberts heard a German patrol entering his designated area by cutting barbed wire. He accidentally loaded a French magazine into his American gun, jamming it. He then fought off the patrol using the rifle as a club and a bolo knife, killing at least four and wounding about 20 more. Roberts was the first American awarded the Croix de Guerre. He wasn't given the Medal of Honor until 2015,...

Why I Like Fallout

My interest in Fallout began when my grandparents bought me a second-hand Xbox 360 for quite a cheap price. It came with a few games, but the two that caught my eye were Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas . I started with absolutely no idea what the games were about, but slowly I became more and more engrossed in the story and atmosphere. I mostly played New Vegas for the sole reason that it had a better tutorial. I eventually grew more and more accustomed to it.    The story behind Fallout can get long and complicated, so I'll only focus on what makes it great to me. The story starts with a second Cold War in 2077. The world looks much like the 50s, but with far more technological advancements. Robots, power armor, laser/plasma weapons, you name it. At the peak of this new Cold War, the world is ravaged by nuclear bombs, forcing those who are fortunate enough into Vaults. The Vaults were believed to help people, but they were more of social experiments. A...
